WATCH: Andre Esterhuizen’s INSANE off-load leads to superb Harlequins try

Andre Esterhuizen’s outstanding form for Harlequins continued as he played a key part in a wonderful try in the Premiership match against Gloucester on Friday.

The Londoners were 14-12 in arrears when they launched an attack inside the Gloucester half.

They shifted the ball to the right where quick hands opened up a two-on-one on the outside. However, the ball dropped at Esterhuizen’s feet, making it difficult for him to pick it up.

The Springbok centre adjusted brilliantly though and swept the ball in one motion, off-loading out the back for Dino Lamb to sprint clear.

Sam Riley eventually touched down after a few more phases as the Londoners moved into a 19-14 advantage.

Esterhuizen drew plenty of praise for this piece of skill, with Quins fans unsurprisingly quick to eulogise over their star centre.

Reaction

The BT Sport cameras caught the reaction of Harlequins coach Tabai Matson, with the head coach clearly enjoying the score.

Andre Esterhuizen; that is sensational. How good to see that passion from Tabai too! Don’t see enough of that roar,” @rugbyQuins tweeted.

“How good from Andre Esterhuizen. A man that size shouldn’t be able to do things like that,” another tweeted.

Harlequins would eventually succumb to a 28-26 defeat after Gloucester scored two late tries, with Louis Rees-Zammit crossing the whitewash for the decisive effort.

He had earlier been denied on his return after Tommy Allan produced a superb cover tackle to prevent him from touching down.

The win sees Gloucester move into third place on the Premiership standings.

Quins did move up to fifth place thanks to two losing bonus-points, but the Londoners could drop down the standings depending on the results from Northampton Saints v Sale Sharks, Bath v London Irish and Leicester v Saracens.
